SINAI Schools Honors Alfred Sanzari Enterprises with ‘Community Partnership Award

Hackensack, NJ |

Alfred Sanzari Enterprises – one of the Garden State’s preeminent real estate developers, owners and managers – recently was honored with SINAI Schools’ prestigious “Community Partnership Award.” The award was presented during the SINAI Schools’ annual benefit dinner, which for the last 30 years has been held at the Marriott at Glenpointe in Teaneck.  The 350-room hotel and conference center is part of the mixed-use Glenpointe complex, developed and owned by Alfred Sanzari Enterprises.

SINAI’s Community Partnership Award recognizes a business or organization that has helped SINAI achieve its mission to provide an excellent, inclusive special education to its students, and to foster the inclusion of individuals with disabilities within the broader community.  Based in Teaneck, SINAI Schools operates special education schools for children in grades 1 through 12, as well as programs for adults.

The annual benefit dinner is critical to support financial assistance for children with special needs who are served by SINAI Schools, according to Chief Development Officer Esti Herman, who presented the award to Alfred Sanzari Enterprises. “Glenpointe is where SINAI emerged on the scene, where we celebrated and laughed and cried together, and where we have done so much to advance the cause of individuals with special needs,” she said.

Sam Fishman, SINAI’s managing director, agrees.  “Over the past three decades it is at the Marriott at Glenpointe that SINAI has been able to educate and sensitize the community on issues related to special needs through our emotionally compelling program. Thanks to the dedication and commitment of David Sanzari and his staff, for 30 years we have been able to raise funds making it possible for thousands of children to receive the special education that they need.”

Jerry L. Barta, Alfred Sanzari Enterprises’ vice-president/director of leasing and marketing accepted the Community Partnership Award on behalf of Alfred Sanzari Enterprises.  Barta and David Sanzari, president and CEO, spoke about the ties that bind their company to SINAI to a capacity crowd of almost 850 attendees.

“During the Great Depression, to help his parents make ends meet, Alfred Sanzari shined shoes in front of the City National Bank building at 241 Main Street in Hackensack. Some years later, Alfred Sanzari owned that building, an astonishing story of success. SINAI, too, is all about enabling astonishing stories of success for its students,” said Barta. “With that kindred spirit, it is not surprising that Alfred Sanzari Enterprises has been so helpful to SINAI in achieving its many successes. Community involvement, faith, family, education and hard work are important strands in the Sanzari DNA, qualities so closely aligned with the values of SINAI. Here’s to the next 30 years and even greater success stories. Together, we can do great things for those who need it most.”

“I would like to thank the SINAI Schools for recognizing Alfred Sanzari Enterprises with this year’s Community Partnership Award,” added Sanzari.  “Watching the documentaries and films that we had a chance to experience tonight truly brings to light the magnificent job that SINAI Schools does for its students. I encourage SINAI Schools to keep up the wonderful work that you do.”
